How to Establish, Run and Grow a Private Music Teaching Studio
My name's Hannah Sophia and I'm a Teaching Artist.
If you're wondering what a Teaching Artist is, you need to look no further than the name. I am both a teacher and an artist and my work is deeply rooted both in the arts and education.
I am not a musician who gives lessons to pay my bills while waiting for my 'big break', and I don't just offer occasional master classes. I live where pedagogy and artistry meet and I use my work as an artist to inform my teaching and vice versa.
This career has given me complete creative and financial freedom. In the seven years since I started my studio I have recorded and released 5 EP's and posted over 28 (and counting) original songs on Patreon, all while transforming the lives of hundreds of students through the power of music. Additionally, I've been able to support my family while my partner has pursued a Master's degree and PhD!
This path has been a gift, both emotionally and financially, and like all of my creative pursuits, I want to make it as accessible as possible. Not just for artists, but for anyone who wants to establish, run or grow their own Music Teaching Studio.
